Driven by a deep passion for clay and its possibilities, Colleen creates thoughtfully crafted functional pottery intended for everyday use, while also exploring alternative firing techniques inspired by the natural world. She established the studio as a welcoming community where ceramic artists of all levels can explore, experiment, and evolve their practice in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Jay Pastorello

With over 25 years immersed in the art of clay, Jay’s journey began with a formative encounter at the potter’s wheel during a high school art class—an experience that sparked a lasting and profound connection to ceramics. Following graduation, he deepened his practice through his role as both staff member and teaching assistant at Harvard’s ceramics program, where the studio offered both creative challenge and quiet refuge. From 2012 to 2021, Jay served as a ceramics instructor at MIT, where he also curated and facilitated a Master Class series featuring visiting master artists.

Erica von Schilgen

Erica earned her BFA in Sculpture from Mass College of Art in 2002. She has developed a body of sculpture work, creating intricate “kinetic collages” exhibited in galleries and museums throughout New England, including the Fuller Craft Museum and Cape Cod Museum of Art. She has also worked as a handbag and accessory designer. In recent years, she has focused on ceramics, incorporating her whimsical style, love of nature, and intricate surface details into her pottery. Using both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, she creates distinctive pieces inspired by textiles, gardening, and children's books.

Becca Sands

Becca Sands started her pottery journey at High Point University where she studied ceramics, sculpture and painting. She quickly took to clay and began to find her voice with surface decoration, using bright colors and intricate designs. Becca strives to help her students find their unique creative voice and strengthen their love of clay.

Ali Greenberg

Ali creates rustic, functional pottery inspired by the things she loves most—horses, flowers, and the beauty of everyday life. She weaves these passions into her work through thoughtful surface design, making each piece uniquely expressive. As a teacher, Ali finds joy in guiding others to create beautiful, functional ceramics that bring warmth and meaning to daily rituals. She believes that handmade pottery not only connects the maker to the craft but also enriches the lives of those who use it.
